Good Things come in 3's

So I was trying to be SO GOOD at this whole consistently writing a blog thing, but between travelling and getting a new job things have been kind of crazy, but a good kind of crazy. So first off.... I have a job!!!!! soooooo excited! I am now a seamstress at a bridal shop (basically my dream college job) and I thought life and jobs could not even get better. But there's more ;) they say all good things come in three's right? This would be number one.

Number two on the list of thing's that have made the past week amazing is traveling to Idaho and Montana. Not gonna lie, I was NOT excited for this trip. I knew it was going to be a lot of work and a lot of time spent on a bus. gross. but then I got there. In Idaho I got to see one of my very best friends growing up. Then Montana was just breathtakingly beautiful and the people were wonderful! It was such a fun ballroom show to put on. If I ever decide to move somewhere cold, that will be where I move. This picture is of the little town we stayed in. Complete with the flashing light, the only light in town. Love it!

Then number three thing is just a hope and a wish and a prayer. I have had a dream of creating a clohing company using all ethical materials (I will do some much more extensive posts on this later) and I ran into some students at BYU with the same dream. I discussed my love of sustainable clothing with the guy and how I would love to do what him and his team are doing, and well, they actually could use some help!!! I am More than willing to give my time to do whatever I can. I will also write more about this company as soon as their website is finished. The ideas they have are brilliant though, and I am so excited about this!
So basically, I am going to be busy beyond all reason in the upcoming months, but I will still try to blog consistently, and tell you all about my sewing adventures.

Also in other news, Hubby finished making our little dragon baby's new terrarium!! Gogy is now officially the dragon king ;) hubby has got some serious skills. we are still going to add an awesome background, just got to get it printed. Gogy Loves it though! Such a happy dragon.

Fave Five Friday!

Good morning world :) I am surprisingly chipper for getting less than 5 hours of sleep. Today is Friday!!!! Which means I am going to Finish some of my projects :) Currently refashioning a large men's shirt into a peplum shirt (I will add on more details as soon as I finish) And I am creating a new school bag! I go through school bags like nobody's business, they have to be pretty sturdy to last long, and I have a preference for cuteness, so making my own seemed like the best option. Not to mention I am creating a detatchable clutch (Which I am feeling pretty clever about), it's taking longer than expected however, as I decided to use a lot of leather accenting, and it has to all be hand-sewn.

Today I would like to start Fave Five Friday! Where I showcase five of my favorite things I came across this week

1) This craft project (for all of the summer travels) in the Martha Stewart Living Magazine, March issue

Keep tickets, pictures and other travel memorabilia in crafted Travel Keepsake Boxes - in Martha Stewart Living March Issue

2) Manvelope, and Ascot. I plan to convince hubby to start wearing ascots. As they are super attractive, and hubby could totally pull off this look.

3) This houndstooth turban. Gorgeous
Electronic Sheep - Houndstooth turban 1
4) Long hair faux hawks :) I have my own version with braids and curly hair to pretty it up a bit but here's a basic tutorial and pic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utLuiqJRwso

5) This backsplash, really brightens up the place when (like me) you don't have a window there

Cobblestones set on applied on their sides makes a unique backsplash full of interest and texture.

Also, enjoy this picture I took for the weekly photo challenge I do with Mamacita :) This week's challenge was to get a nature shot.

Happy Friday Y'all!!

First post!

Since this is my first blog post (yay!!) I figured I should introduce myself. My name is Anna and I love clothes. I am about the height and weight of the average supermodel, which would be great if I was a model, but all the clothes that fit me well are usually super duper expensive cause they are made for runways. Pretty much everything I buy, I either alter. Or refashion. Or I just sew my own clothes :) Sewing is one of my main passions in life, starting out at age three, when I made a pattern and socks for a baby doll I had. My mom didn't even know. I've always been pretty independent that way, and didn't want baby doll's feet to get cold.

I got married last May to the most incredible guy ever!! I'll refer to him on here as the hubby, or husband, or my sweetheart. He is a stick like me (our poor future children will be so skinny), and the man has got some serious style. My first thoughts on meeting him in his button up orange shirt, jeans, and some grey loafers was just how impressed I was that he looks good in orange, and he seems so confident! After one week of dating I decided I was going to marry him, and luckily for me, he eventually agreed that he was going to marry me too.

My husband and I have a pet bearded dragon named Gogy (I call him Goginator or Sweet Pea), and I will likely post some pictures of some projects we have done and will do for him (I mean, even a lizard needs a sweet living area and a halloween costume)

Another important thing anyone reading this is that I LOVE Disney. Hubby and I got engaged at Disneyland, went on a Disney cruise and Disneyworld for our honeymoon, and went to the Disney resort in Hawaii for New Years. Not to mention our avid Disney movie watching, etc. Yeah, hubby and I are total Disney freaks. I like to think of myself as a Disney Princess, just starting my happily ever after with the husband. (I know, I'm kind of a cheese ball) Often I will think of certain princesses or characters in designing my outfits or style. My two very favorites Disney heroines that I feel a strong connection with our Cinderella and Megara (at least, currently)
My husband is amazing :) please ignore my outfit, I really should have thought to bring a cute jacket instead of having to borrow my father-in-law's. Who knew California would be cold in November?
Basically, Meg embodies most of my personality.
                                                                              and life.

Last, but not least, y'all should know I am a southern girl. Raised in Texas on the outskirts of Houston. I have both inner city experience, and a little bit of country in me.  Like most Texans, I am proud to be a Texan. I currently live in Utah for college, but that does not make me any less Texan.
p.s. I am REALLY wishing I could be at rodeo right now.

Now enjoy this picture of grumpy cat

Have a nice day!
