I feel like there was a fire lit in my soul, and all I want to do is work for my dreams. Speaking of dreams, I had a dream last night about the dresses at the Met Gala, and buying fabric to make beautiful dresses like those. I think I might be a little bit on the obsessed side. I was especially excited for the Met Gala yesterday as I know one of the guys who was in charge of it, and he told my friends and I about some of the plans for it! The Met Gala had everyone from the first lady Michelle Obama, and the ever wonderful Anna Wintour, to some of my favorite celebs, Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Emma Watson. As well as a good amount of famous models. I was checking instagram all day to see the latest dress designs people were wearing at the gala!
So now to tell you how I met the guy in charge of making the event happen. When I went to New York, one of my friends dad's was really good friends with this guy, and had him take us up to the Penthouse (rumored to be the same building that Beyonce lives in), It was the most gorgeous once in a lifetime experience! Most people never get to see a view like what I saw that day. Gorgeous. After the tour and picture time in the penthouse, he took us for a walk in central park at night. It was so beautiful, and so peaceful. A common misconception is that central park is dangerous at night. While that may have been true 10 years ago, it is not the same now. It is very clean, safe, and well patrolled by police. Honestly while walking across the whole park we hardly even saw people. Which was hugely different from what it was like in the daytime, wih everyone running around, and tons of tourists visiting. That night of seeing the whole city laid before me and feeling the peace in the park is when I truly fell in love with New York. That night is when I decided that I will most definitely be back to that city.
Also I would like to add a few pictures of my favorite dresses from the Met Gala! (all are from Lucky.com)

New York Fashion Field trip Part 1
I just had one of the most fabulous weeks of my life! It was a once in a lifetime trip, and I am so glad I was able to go. I am in love with New York. Something about that city just energizes me. I woke up every day excited to explore, and went to bed late every night after a fun filled day. I desperately want to go back. I Will live there one day.
I went on this trip with my college, it was for fashion and interior design students. There were about 19 of us and 5 leaders. We had appointments with everyone from textile designers to Broadway costume designers. The appointment I want to talk about right now though is Anna Maier. It was an inspiration to me. The man who is the head designer is doing exactly what I want to do in my life. He makes custom wedding and formal dresses made specifically for each person. He was so nice to us. He gave us some amazing tips and advice. He was so open, he shared with us tips for how to make a strapless dress stay up (corset underneath with the lining so the dress is supported from the waist), he taught us how he paints the body with lace (picture below) and how to make prettier lines on a body with a dress. He told us things that took him ages to figure out, and was so open with us. One thing he said was that as a designer he is always scared when his work goes down a runway. He wants people to love it, and for his designs to be perfect. The thing is, even though you will always be scared, you do it anyways. You work hard for your dreams. Make good connections with people, and never ever give up.
